2010 Brides Against Breast Cancer Gown Sale

We are so excited and thankful as DaT's Events Planning, LLC will be volunteering for this WONDERFUL event!

The Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to granting last wishes for men and women suffering from Stage 4 (metastatic) breast cancer, has received thousands of wedding gowns for its "Brides Against Breast Cancer" Nationwide Tour of Gowns.

On January 28, 29 and 30, the Tour will return to Atlanta with a truckload of grand and beautiful bridal gowns from well-known sources in sizes ranging from 2 to 44.

Most gowns in the collection have been donated by members of the bridal industry; some are runway samples, modeled at recent Market shows. Others are gifts from individuals across the country.

The selection - one of the largest assembled in the U.S. -- will include hundreds of current styles from a long list of well-known designers and manufacturers at unbelievably low prices. An impressive array of veils, crinolines and other accessories will also be offered.

Most gowns have been marked down 40% to 75% below traditional salon prices. Prices range from $99 to $799 for values to $3,500. A collection of Designer and Couture bridals retailing to $8,000 will also be included, with none priced higher than $2,499.

Randall and Shani Jones

It was an honor and a privilege to work with this lovely couple. When Shani contacted our company and told us their story, we were very excited to coordinate their wedding.

Shani is a college student studying Sociology and Randall is serving in the Armed Forces, currently doing a tour in Afghanistan. Randall was granted a special leave from Afghanistan to wed his gorgeous wife. Their wedding and reception took place at The Conference Center of Dekalb Tech on November 2, 2009

Eleven 15 Events Bridal Showcase

What a grand time we had at Eleven 15 Events Bridal Showcase on Sunday, September 13, 2009 (pictures are forthcoming). As each bride and guest entered, they were mesmerized by the beauty and layout of this fabulous facility.

During their visit, Brides were able to meet vendors, tour the magnificent facility and delight themselves in culinary cuisines of Eleven 15 Events and delightful sweets of participating vendors.

We are the Event Coordinators for Eleven 15 Events, so we had the wonderful opportunity to be the tour guides for the brides as well as answer questions, provide quotes, etc. We wanted to make sure the brides left with no stones unturned.

As always, we are just so blessed and excited to be a part of this wonderful team! Warren and Sharice are phenomenal people and always go above and beyond for their clients. Congratulations to Tom & Teresa Calalay!

Tom and Teresa were married on 7/11/ 09 @ Café 267 in Tucker, GA. DaT’s Events Planning, LLC provided the Wedding Planning/Coordination. Tom and Teresa was a great couple to work with! Teresa and I connected right away. Through our many conversations, we learned that we share a lot of the same values in life.

Their wedding was absolutely beautiful! The colors they selected for their big day were Lilac, Gold, Ivory and White.

As you can see Teresa was stunning

and Tom was handsome!

Highlight of the Ceremony: Teresa and Tom opted to do the Sand Ceremony with a twist instead of the Unity Candle. The twist: Teresa stated that she wanted to incorporate her children as well as Tom’s children into the wedding, so instead of the 2 smaller vases being filled with sand prior to the wedding, she decided to have their children pour the sand for them ~ Very Unique. Her children poured her sand which was gold and his children poured his sand which was white.

My favorite part of their sand ceremony was prior to Tom and Teresa pouring their sand, she had a family friend to read the customized script created by DaT’s Events Planning and upon finishing the script, the family friend took a vase of pure white sand and poured it into the bottom of Tom and Teresa’s unity vase to represent the Holy Spirit! Tom and Teresa wanted everyone to know that the Holy Spirit is and will always be a part of their marriage and their life. It was such a special moment during their ceremony!

Guest Book Alternatives

Are you looking for a guest book that is a little more special and unique than the classic book format? Great!

Here are 3 ideas for you to consider:

1. Signature Frames are a great alternative to the traditional guest book. Your guests sign their name on the mat that is surrounding your photo. It is a great keepsake for after the event. Signature frames are wonderful for weddings, anniversaries, bridal showers, baby showers, special birthdays and even corporate events.

2. Signature Platters are great alternatives as well. There are an array of beautiful styles and designs to choose from. Don’t forget your special pen that comes with the platter for guest to sign with.

3. A Wishing Tree, which is one of my favorite alternatives, allows your guest to leave hand written well wishes for you! Get yourself a nice decorative box to put all of your well wishes in. They make for wonderful reading after your event. Remember, the wishing tree and the cards are unique to you and only you.

As with signature frames, the signature platters and wishing tree are excellent for weddings, anniversaries, bridal showers, baby showers, special birthdays and corporate events.

Q: We would like to have an open bar at our event, but we are not financially prepared to do so. What should we do?

A: Having an open bar is a wonderful and COSTLY item for your event. If you are on a fixed budget, one option could be to offer your guest a signature mixed drink as oppose to an open bar. Not only is it cheaper, but it can harmonize with your color palette as well as be a way of including one of your favorite drinks into your event!

If you talk to your bartender in advance, he or she can create a tailor-made cocktail or whip up a distinction on a classic favorite. To add a personalized touch, name your special drink. It could be called that special name you have for your significant other or it could be named after your favorite team. The possibilities are endless!

Make sure to let your bartender know your flavors as well as your price range. Choose liquor that is a step above well, but don’t feel compelled to indulge in top shelf.
